Hundreds of community and technical college students organized by the Council for Unions and Student Programs came to Olympia today to press lawmakers to make affordable and accessible higher education in Washington a priority.Their pleas come amidst prospects of increased tuition and cuts that might range around 20 percent at colleges.
Rep. Deb Wallace, who chairs the House Higher Education Committee, and Rep. Reuven Carlyle spoke to the students and reinforced that education is one of the most important investments we can make.
